Brief history on MOCM

It started on the night of 27th July 2005 when Aidil, Ewan, Joe, Najib. Jason, Albert met….then along came draquela, Alvin, kamal, chilipadi, In, droll, mafia, puck, hyperblue, bohtak, edmundlah, tcw, the badboysmini, 505, 808, shriley66, minimadness, suffian, richard, edwin, peter, fei928, lester, shirley66,cp88, eizz, carol, zain, puresilver……since then the club has grown in numbers and continues to expand to this day.

While some have joined for a Reason, some for a Season but many are here for a Lifetime!

MOCM started with just a handful of MINIacs as mentioned by MINIster. It’s certainly evolved tremendously over the years with highly energetic & ehthusiastic MINIacs now getting involved in many of the activities.

I remembered our regular outings during those early days were mainly Saturday morning TT whereby fellow owners help to order parts & do DIY upgrades on our beloved MINIs. During the time , there were not so many variants of MINI so any gatherings/convoys have always looked impressive and looked “neat & tidy”. They never failed to attract attention from the bystanders. I guess MINIs are a lot more common nowadays hence the “attention” part has worn off a little.

Nevertheless, it’s great to be part of the MINI big family and looking forward to many more happy days to come!

Today the MOCM family continues to grow with Amir & chief, Amman, Alfred, Asri, Fahmy, Azam, Bala, Calvin9, CK, David, Eddy, Eric, Ewan & Mahiza, Gary, Haris, Hon, Irfan, Jeff, Jim, Joe, JR, Kelvin & Yuki, Kenneth, Lim & Angeline, Melvin, Mervyn & Trisya, Mike, Mohammed, Moogs, Muhd, Nicole, Pacco, Raja Aris, Saiful, Sam & Janice, Sean, Sly & Kylie, Tew, Thiru, Thomas, Vivian, Wan, Zac, ………..at weekly Wednesday meets, Charity & Sunday drives, overland trips and, countless other meets……

I remember this night! Our First ever Board of Members meet! We had 4 VVVIPS that came with police escorts as our special guests too! What a night to remember!
